- Silver proteins, silver salts, mild silver protein, strong silver protein,
silver chloride, silver iodide
- What is it?
- A liquid with very small pieces of silver in a thick Jell-O-like
substance.
- Adverse reactions:
- Argyria - a permanent blue/gray color of the skin, eyes, and organs.
- Safety and effectiveness:
- Colloidal silver is not shown to be as safe. No over-the-counter medicine
with colloidal silver in it can be sold.
- History of use:
- Colloidal silver has been sold since the late 1800s as a cure or treatment
for many problems including: sore throat, HIV/AIDS, cancer, herpes, yeast,
shingles, tuberculosis (TB), bubonic (black) plague, cholera, sugar diabetes,
pneumonia, syphilis, worms, infections, viruses, and fungus. Detailed studies
on the use and safety of colloidal silver have not been done. Testimonials,
reports of single events, and personal experiences are not good proof that it
works or that it is safe. At this time, there is no safe or effective use for
these silver products.
